Other than a tad unsightly, its worst effect was itching which increased as it spread. My dermatologist had no suggestions other than applying some Hydrocortisone. That resulted in little or no relief. You were good enough to give my wife a sample tube of Derma Z Aide a couple of weeks ago. It provided immediate relief; not a cure (it's still there, and I still don't know what it is), but relief from the itching for the first time in months. For that, I'm thankful. G.M., Oklahoma City (RASH / ITCH) I have used it (DermaZaide) many times, particularly, with red ant bites. Particularly, recently. it seems there's been an exponential explosion of these ants. I've used it and it did take the "sting" away. I do use it on the dog as well. The challenge is preventing her from licking it off before it can work it's magic. Though I can't begin to know whether or not she actually experiences relief from her allergy welts/rashes, etc. I can say, there seems to be visible reduction in the redness and size of the welts/rashes. It requires frequent application and much distracting her from licking it off. I always feel successful if I can distract her 10-15 minutes, hoping the cream gets absorbed enough to be beneficial. I'm glad I brought a tube with me on my trip to Alaska. We had a few run-ins with mosquitoes and, again, the cream seemed to reduce the irritation from a bite. He accepted my offer to apply DermaZaide to his injury and we were both surprised to see that huge bruise fade away over the next few days. DermaZaide was "magic juice". Thank you! T,S. – San Diego, CA (BRUISES) I applied conservative amounts of DermaZAide to my forearms with particular attention to the small hard scaly spots that had developed over the past five years. After using two tubes (approximately ¼ fl. oz. ea.) over a period of about three months, all but a small number of the spots were gone. Small light colored spots remained after hard scale washed away. My forearms are smoother with an overall reduction in redness and rash areas. I have light skin and have regular treatments for actinic keratosis. DermaZAide seems to be a very effective treatment for my skin condition. ED, San Diego, CA (HARD THICK SCALE). I recently had the misfortune to suffer from a rather severe rash from poison oak while clearing my back yard. Although I had gloves and long pants and shirt a rash resulted that covered the greater portion of my torso as well as my legs. The pruritis was unbearable and none of the over-the-counter products I tried, including topical steroids, were effective.  I then tried the DemaZaide, both the body lotion and the powder and I experienced a definite improvement in my symptoms. I now prophylactically apply DermaZaide when working out in the yard and I have yet to experience recurrence of these severe symptoms.  I think DermaZaide is definitely beneficial in the treatment of mild to moderate pruritis and rash secondary to contact dermatitis from poison oak, and may be beneficial for other dermatologic causes of pruritis (e.g., insect bites) as well.
